Battery maker gets $250m EV deal

Electric vehicle battery maker EVida Power has signed a $250m deal to supply French-German carmaker Mia Electric with 8kWh batteries for three new vehicles.

The company will supply 10,000 batteries per year – initially until 2016 – topower Mia’s zero-emission three and four-seater Mia and Mia L town car as well as its 1,500-litre cargo box van.
