Cable debuts in Brussels

Newly appointed Business Secretary Vince Cable today visited Brussels for the first time in his new role to discuss strengthening the EU’s global competitiveness.

Cable was one of four Liberal Democrats to enter the Cabinet as per the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition. Formerly his party’s Treasury spokesperson, Cable takes over from Lord Mandelson as Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.
