Construction begins on Britishvolt’s battery gigafactory in Northumberland

Construction has begun on Britishvolt's full-scale independent battery gigafactory in Blyth, Northumberland, a development that will bring around 3,000 direct highly-skilled jobs and another 5,000+ in the associated supply chains.

Contractor ISG yesterday commenced enabling works on the first phase of the battery factory on the former Blyth Power Station site near the village of Cambois in Northumberland.
