Doing it for the kids

West Yorkshire based kitchen manufacturer Rixonway is launching an Engineers of the Future Academy through which it will train promising youngsters and introduce school children to manufacturing.

The £30m turnover company which employs 450 staff will use the academy to train apprentices and will also host school and college visits for aspiring engineers. Of the latter, the first were 14 ‘A’ Level Design Technology students from Hornsea School in Hull, who experienced Rixonway’s entire production process, from the arrival of raw materials…
