Hope for Corus workers

A hundred new jobs will be created at Corus's Hartlepool pipe mill, some of which could be filled by former staff from the company's mothballed Teeside plant.

The positions will be generated by a £200m contract the steel giant secured today with Total and its partner Dong Energy to supply pipes for the new gas fields the two companies are developing in Scotland.
