The British steel industry has faced substantial global price pressures due to weak demand and over-capacity, leading many to perceive it as a ‘dying industry’. Liberty House Group’s Sanjeev Gupta, through a strategy that defied these perceptions, acquired and restarted a number of steel and engineering businesses, saving more than 2,000 jobs.
