Pennine Healthcare has hosted a Cross-Trainathon event at its Derby base, which saw colleagues come together to raise money for the company’s chosen charity for 2025, Safe and Sound.
Held in the company’s main reception, the event on 3 June saw teams from across the business take on a seven-hour endurance challenge to see who could travel the furthest distance on cross trainers. More than just a physical challenge, the CrossTrainathon celebrated teamwork, the Derby Spirit, and a shared purpose – raising vital funds and awareness for vulnerable children and young people affected by exploitation.
Representatives from Safe and Sound also joined the event on the day, helping to engage colleagues, raise awareness about the charity’s mission, and even taking part in the event themselves.
Tracy Harrison, CEO at Safe and Sound said: We are absolutely blown away by the dedication and incredible effort of the Pennine Health team! Their ‘Crosstrainer-thon’ was not just a fantastic display of teamwork and perseverance, but it also raised much-needed funds that will directly help us transform the lives of vulnerable children and young people in Derbyshire. To every single member of the Pennine Healthcare team, thank you for your amazing commitment – your passion truly inspires us all!’
Safe and Sound’s work resonates deeply with Pennine Healthcare’s values. The charity provides critical resources, safeguarding, and advocacy for some of the most vulnerable members of the community.
Dan Wilson, Head of Marketing & Communications at Pennine Healthcare, said: “Here at Pennine, we put a lot of emphasis on bringing our purpose to life, and our annual sporting challenge is always a highlight in our staff’s calendars. This year, we are delighted to be raising money for Safe & Sound, and I want to thank all our staff for their effort in the Cross Trainer Challenge.”
