When Prime Minister David Cameron said in May 2010 that he wanted to create “the greenest government ever”, no one expected it to be a simple task. But as the coalition governnment has continued the staggered introduction of environmental regulations and taxes in an attempt to stimulate green growth, the strain on business is already taking a toll. In March the government set a floor price for tradeable carbon emissions credits in a move designed as a key part of its proposals to reform the electricity market.
