ASTRAEA, a UK industry-led consortium advancing the use of unmanned aircraft in the UK, hopes to have a firm set of regulations in place so that UAVs can be operated in Britain by 2020.
The £62m effort is being led by a consortium consisting of autonomous and semi-autonomous systems firm AOS and industry heavyweights BAE Systems, Cassidian, Cobham, QinetiQ, Rolls-Royce and Thales.
