Draganfly has announced a significant expansion of its U.S. manufacturing footprint, aimed at strengthening domestic drone production and supply chain resilience.
The move adds multiple AS9100- and ISO9001-certified manufacturing and logistics facilities through the company’s contract manufacturing partner. According to Draganfly, the expansion enhances its capacity to meet rising demand for U.S.-made drones while ensuring redundancy and resiliency across its operations.
The announcement comes as the U.S. government takes steps to accelerate the growth of the domestic drone industry. In a recent policy shift, the U.S. Secretary of Defense introduced an initiative to fast-track drone production and expand supply chain capacity. The directive seeks to overcome historically lengthy procurement cycles, increase investment in U.S.-based manufacturers, and streamline the integration of drone systems across government and public safety agencies. Industry analysts say these measures underscore the urgency of reducing reliance on foreign supply chains and building a more agile domestic industrial base.
Draganfly’s expansion positions the company squarely within this national agenda. By improving logistics and diversifying its supply chain, the company aims to meet increasing demand for its portfolio of products, including the Draganfly Flex FPV system.
“U.S. leadership is signaling a clear and necessary shift in how this critical technology is procured and deployed,” said Cameron Chell, CEO of Draganfly. “By expanding our U.S. manufacturing footprint, we’re not only improving how quickly we can deliver for customers—we’re also contributing to a more agile, secure, and self-reliant drone ecosystem.”
With both government policy and market demand aligning, the timing of Draganfly’s expansion could prove pivotal. The development highlights how domestic drone manufacturers are stepping up to build capacity in response to heightened national security priorities and evolving supply chain challenges.
