A £3m Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) funding competition has been launched by Innovate UK to accelerate the commercial adoption of low carbon concrete solutions.

As the concrete and cement industry currently accounts for around 1.5% of UK’s carbon dioxide emissions and around 7% of emissions globally, this competition is an important next step in the industry’s decarbonisation.
