Two Approaches to Smart Factory Security: Merging Perspectives from IT and OT

Guidelines for smart factory security have been published across multiple countries around the world, many containing their own regional regulations, with IT vendors and OT service providers adding a myriad of security tools and services. This has caused difficulties for IT departments within the manufacturing industry and for system managers in factories when considering appropriate methods for their organizations, operations, and systems.

In this document, we take a look at the general security issues and strategies smart factories should be considering depending on the role of the organization as well as the system environments of the factory base.
