Tell us a bit about yourself. This can include telling us what fires you up about the job you do, your professional achievements, your career highlights. What inspires you? What attracted you to pursue a career in manufacturing? Is there anything else you’d like to say about either your job or UK manufacturing?
I started as a programmer, progressing through consultancy with KPMG and general management with Siemens to CIO roles. I’ve worked extensively on ERP supply chain and manufacturing solutions. In Origin we champion sustainable land use through technically-led solutions, across agriculture, environmental, urban and infrastructure development and amenity markets.

Our inspiring focus is on empowering our customers to enrich their land so it can achieve its true potential. The challenges in our sectors are significant and multifaceted but what our customers do, especially in UK agriculture, is vitally important. It’s a privilege to play a small part as my talented colleagues help address those challenges through new and better uses of technology – across both core ERP technologies and front-end digital enablement and analytics.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Avoid people with big egos.

What is your favourite engineered/manufactured product?

Please give one interesting fact about yourself that not many people know.
As a teenager I was watched by Arsenal, who confused me with another (much more talented) player!

If you weren’t in manufacturing what would be your dream job?
Sky Sports football pundit.
