Tell us a bit about yourself. This can include telling us what fires you up about the job you do, your professional achievements, your career highlights. What inspires you? What attracted you to pursue a career in manufacturing? Is there anything else you’d like to say about either your job or UK manufacturing?
Having spent nearly twelve years in manufacturing, I can confidently say there’s nothing quite like it. The industry offers constant, evolving challenges with countless opportunities to solve problems and implement improvements.
What I enjoy most in my role is the freedom to explore and innovate with our systems and data. This has accelerated my development and allowed me to deliver impactful ideas that enhance business performance. I’m particularly passionate about unlocking value from data through analytics and visualisation and have led plant projects involving IoT, data warehousing and PowerBI, helping the business gain clearer insights. I’m excited to see how the manufacturing landscape evolves technologically and how we can harness emerging tools to drive even greater progress.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Making mistakes is part of the process, don’t be too hard on yourself.
What is your favourite engineered/manufactured product?
Definitely the V10 engine, nothing sounds better.
Please give one interesting fact about yourself that not many people know.
I can play four musical instruments (violin, piano, drums and guitar).
If you weren’t in manufacturing what would be your dream job?
Anything with motorsports, such as a race engineer.
