Job Title: Managing Director

Tell us a bit about yourself. This can include telling us what fires you up about the job you do, your professional achievements, your career highlights. What inspires you? What attracted you to pursue a career in manufacturing? Is there anything else you’d like to say about either your job or UK manufacturing?
I have been in the industry for almost 40 years, in an architectural practice, a QS, a structural engineer and a building contractor as office manager. I studied for four years at Sheffield Hallam University which helped my thirst for knowledge, graduating my MSc in management (resources) in 2002, going on to be one of the first cohort of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Programme in 2016. I am a passionate supporter of continuous learning, apprenticeships and mentoring.

I continue to pay this passion forwards as a STEM Ambassador for over 16 years supporting STEMamazing, The work-wise Foundation, Enterprise Advisor, a member of the Women in RACHP Group and Chair of Trustees for children’s literacy charity Grimm & Co. I have been at Airmaster for 30 years; we work in heating, cooling with plumbing and ventilation running alongside. I have always had a passion for apprenticeships; we got our first in 2000 (who is now our Ops Director) and we have held Investors in People for 20 years.

I am immensely proud that we became an employee-owned trust in 2021 and completed the buyout of our founders in 2024. I am also an active supporter and voice of SMEs as the backbone of UK business. I was the first female President of the combined Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce for three years and have been a Freeman of The Company of Cutlers of Hallamshire since 2014.
