Job Title: Economic Growth Champion – Advanced Materials and Manufacturing

Company: Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority

Tell us a bit about yourself. This can include telling us what fires you up about the job you do, your professional achievements, your career highlights. What inspires you? What attracted you to pursue a career in manufacturing? Is there anything else you’d like to say about either your job or UK manufacturing?
For the past five years, I’ve been proud to serve within local government, driving forward the growth of the advanced materials and manufacturing sector. My journey began as the lead author of an ambitious economic growth strategy – one where manufacturing took centre stage. That strategy didn’t just shape a policy, it sparked a personal mission to create meaningful, lasting change that truly reflects the needs of both businesses and residents across Cambridgeshire. Since then, I’ve continued to champion this vital sector; amplifying its potential, challenging outdated perceptions and helping to position it as a force for innovation and prosperity on a national scale. My commitment remains clear: to push boundaries, unlock opportunities and ensure our region – and our sector – continues to thrive.

Please give one interesting fact about yourself that not many people know.
My favourite place in the world I have visited (to date) is Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

If you weren’t in manufacturing what would be your dream job?
Helping each generation of young people stay active, learning soft skills through the power of sport.
